Story Quests
Story Quests are any quest that progress the story in Fields of Mistria. These quests often involve unlocking new systems (such as processing animal products) or upgrading current systems (like updating the General Store).
You will unlock Story Quests in a couple ways, most commonly by receiving letters in the mail or accepting Request Board requests. Some Story Quests are locked behind "story progression", which means they cannot be started until other conditions have been met (such as earlier quests or benchmarks completed).

Heart Quests
Heart Quests are unlocked by achieving new Heart Levels with Characters. After reaching a certain Heart Level, you will receive a letter in the mail asking to meet the Character (though sometimes the Heart Quest will become available at the Request Board). Each Heart Quest has a cutscene between yourself and the Character that reveals more about the Character's backstory or personality.

Requests
Requests are quests that only appear on the Request Board in Mistria. As the name implies, these tend to be low-stakes quests posted by Characters asking for items such as Crops, Fish, Insects, or Resources. In exchange, Characters will reward you with money (Tesserae), Resources, Food, or sometimes even Cooking Recipes.
Requests are a great way to also increase your Renown, boosting your Town Rank.
